Pieta Pouf
Pieta Pouf is based on the Pieta statue from Michelangelo. The digital sculpture is turned into a 2D file and printed on fabric giving the illusion of a carved model. The piece represents and mimics the marble legs of the original statue. The object is at the crossroads between functional object and a sculpture. It gives the user the aesthetic experience to sit on an art icon.
‘It is no longer a question of imitation, nor duplication, nor even parody. It is a question of substituting the signs of the real for the real.’ Jean Baudrillard”
